Why do the waves lap the shore ?
Why are flowers blooming ?

Why is the grass green, the sky blue up above?
When you're no longer with us.

To the best little sister I have ever had - you will always be with me and will never be forgotten.

I would like to first send my prayers to the family who lost their little girl on a road that should have been sorted out a long time ago. Yarmouth road needs to have traffic lights and a proper pelican crossing for the young children who have to attend the gunton primary school. how much heart ache do parents have to endure until something is done.
The road system being done around lowestoft is causing so many problems when it was completly fine in the first place. Yet a road like yarmouth road which is so busy and there is no proper crossings, is left as it is. I feel the council should now start to do something worth while with this road an make it a safe place to cross due to children having to use it to get to school. being a parent myself i know how dangerous it is for our children on the roads and always had a great deal of worry and difficulty crossing that road when my child attended gunton.
So please let something be done so no one else has to go through this terrible heartache.
Ms Clare Golder

After just driving through Lowestoft centre on towards Tesco in Gunton having gone past the spot where the tragic loss of a young girl took place it dawned on me WHY IS THERE NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS THERE TO STOP THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC (PEDESTRAIN CROSSING) Yes we could say there is a lolly pop man/lady on duty there but looking at the space there is to get a vehicle through whilst people wait in the middle of the lanes in what is no more than 3 feet wide is and was an accident waiting to happen Having 2 children myself i can not even begin to imagine the way in which both the little girls family and the driver of the vechile involved will ever be able to come to terms with this.
It is on that note that i wish to start a campagine to urge the local authoritys to place lights that will STOP THE TRAFFIC when people want to cross, we must never let that happen again So Mr Cook if you have to please start a petition in the Journal and i am sure the local people will agree and surport this just course My thoughts go out to the familys of all those involved in Monday's terible nightmare.
Mr David Patterson

To the best little sister and auntie - we will always smile brightest for you. Our little princess we will always love you and Oliver will still have the biggest smile for his Mantha like he always has. Love millions and much more xxxxxxxxxx

We just wanted to say how so very sorry we were to hear the tragic news. We are thinking of you all at this very sad time and cannot begin to imagine what you are all going through.
With all our love
Sarah Fulker, Simon and boys.

When I heard on Monday that there had been a loss of such a young life, I was so shocked and saddened.
When myself, my husband and my family realised this was the little girl we remembered as a toddler who had previously lived at the end of our road we were totally all so devastated.
We are all so deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Samantha, we cannot begin to imagine what all of Samantha's family are going through at this most sad time.
We only wish there were something we could to to help ease the pain.
Our thoughts are with all of you.
Goodnight Samantha, your sweet little smile will always be remembered.

Good night! good night!
Far flies the night;
But still God's love
Shall flame above,
Making all bright.
Goodnight! goodnight!
I wish to express our sincere sympathy with the Castledine family after the tragic loss of their sweet little girl Samantha.
My walk to school will never be the same, we will miss seeing her smiling face as she rides her bike to school.
I am angry at the fact that has taken the death of a child before they think about doing something with that crossing and anything they do will be too little too late, and I will sign any petition going.
From Michelle, Bob, Shannon and Cameron Downie

First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are for Samantha, her family and all her loved ones. One so young ought not to have had her life cut so short. Rest in Peace.
To the Council and Highways Agency, I would say get a proper crossing for that stretch of the road sooner not later. Hang the expense. There is no price on this earth that could pay for the life of a child.

Yet another innocent life needlessly lost. Wake up Suffolk County Council. Please start to listen to the people of Lowestoft. I have lived at my present home for 29 years. W e have three children who had to cross the busy A12 Yarmouth Road to go to school. We asked that a safe crossing for our children be provided then. And I know the question has been asked many time since. Still no safe crossing.
Yes we have a crossing patrol person, but that person cannot police both sides of that railed off obelisk in the middle of the road at the same time.
We have seen a pedestrian light crossing put near the Denes High School. Yes we need to keep all our children safe. But these pupils are in their teens, and by an large are street and road wise.
Not so the toddlers crossing the road at the accident spot. To go to Gunton Primary School they are just learning the way of the world. More of a priority do you not think.
Then we have this so-called “relief road” with all the new roundabouts, on these are pedestrian light crossings, on most roads leading off. A waste of our money.
Why not put one where you know, it will save lives. All we ask for is a safe crossing for our toddlers to go to school. Our thoughts and hearts are with Samantha’s parents at this time.
Stan and Sylvia Owen, Gunton

Samantha I will always miss you, love you always
From your cousin Nonny (Johnny ) x x x x

I like to send a message to the family of Samantha, I was sitting at work when the news of the incident on Monday morning, which was announced on Beach Radio,(the news we all dread as parents). What a waste of life because yet again the council wanted to save and use the money on something that is not needed or renewed,(THAT'S WHAT THEY THINK) We protest for a very good reason, COUNCIL - what's the reason for not listening and acting? I have five children and I work while they are at school. The youngest being five nearly six years old and I can't imagine what it would be like as she always wakes up with a smile and a cheeky grin. So we will pray for you and your family each day. When you look up into the sky look for the biggest sparkling star, because you will see Samantha smiling and giggling back to you. I look for my dad's star, its been two years now and I am still trying to come to terms but maybe one day I'll be able to smile back. Take care
Helena and Family.

I only knew Samantha when she was a baby - my heart goes out to Kevin and Jackie for the loss of their precious daughter. May the angels take care of her also her mummy and daddy, who loved her very much.
Love from old friend Gloria xxx

It was truly shocking news when we heard about the tragedy. Our hearts go out to cousin Jackie, Kev and all the family also her grandma Joan x x x
We barely got to know you
But we loved you just the same.
In life on earth we'll miss you,
And all our hearts in pain.
Marlene, Denis and all family in Kirkby in Ashfield and Malc, Kim Sutton.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss, our prayers are with you all.
Michael and Norma.

It's been nearly a week now since my husband and I heard the commotion caused by the accident near the top of our lane. When we heard it was Samantha, six years old and on her way to school, it broke our hearts. We have two little granddaughters around Samantha's age and they had stayed the weekend with us. All week she has been on our minds and we are pleased to have the opportunity to send a message to her family.
We cannot begin to imagine the grief felt by you all at this time and would like to offer you our deepest sympathy.
Please let something be done about the crossing soon so that Samantha did not die in vain.
God Bless,
Faye and Jim Godfrey, Yarmouth Road.

Sending prayers, love and strength to all Samantha's family to get through this horrendous nightmare. Grandad Barry will take care of you now little one, rest peacefully in his arms.
Love and sympathy to you all, Kirstin, Stephanie and Harrison xxx

Dear Jackie and Kevin,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Jan and Denny Lockwood. (Eskdale Way).

To the parents and family of Samantha
Such a tragic day, our thoughts go out to you all. We are the parents of two children who played with Samantha at school and live in the street. Such a beutifull little girl with a big pretty smile. It has annoyed me that it has taken such a tragic loss of your beutifull little girl only just beginning her life for Suffolk roadsafe to put two lollipop attendants on that crossing.
Hopefully now your fight for a crossing WILL be listened too and I have no doubt that the local public will back you too. Again our thoughts and sympathy goes out to you all.
Sleep tight Samantha. Rest In Peace.
Mr and Mrs Hale and family.

You will always be in our thoughts Samantha!
Such a tragic thing to happen to such a sweet little girl, all I can say is how sorry I am that this has happened to such a lovely family who

Such a sad and tragic thing to have happened - my deepest sympathies to Jackie and Kevin on their loss. Samantha was so full of life, and was always smiling, she is going to be very sadly missed by all who knew her, but her laughter and smile will live on in all of us of whom she touched
Tina Bell

Dearest Samantha, I knew you, a pretty little smile always on your face. In Year 1 I had to come in during break and lunch to do filing for your class. I had a purple sash on me and I always said hello to you. You were a talented dancer.
Lots of love and sweet dreams

Dearest samantha.
May the angels look after you now. You were such a dear little girl and so inquisitive, always wanting to learn. You would come to me when you couldn't do something and I always tried my best to help you.
You were so kind to my son Luke Milton who was not the nicest child at the best of times but you were always so compassionate towards him. You will be sorely missed by all those who knew you....xx
Luke said he will always remember the way your eyelashes stood out so long and your long flowing hair.
With love and remembrance from Miss T Blige and Luke Milton.

Firstly, sincere sympathy goes out to Jackie, Kevin and all the family. I cannot imagine what you are all going through at the loss of such a special little girl!!
I live just across the road from you all and will never forget Samantha's lovely smile and her ability to brighten up anyone's day. She would always say hello to me and my boys if we passed and she happened to be out the front playing on her bike or with the dog! Her smile and lovely manner will be sadly missed! March 26 will always be a very sad, shocking day!
My youngest, Morgan, is a school friend of Samantha's at Gunton. He wanted me to say that he will miss Samantha and he wants her to have fun being an angel!!
I, like many others, will sign any petition going as unfortunately a lovely little six year old, full of life, has had to be taken for this problem area to be highlighted. It saddens and disgusts me as I know it is not the first accident that has occurred here, the most tragic, but not the first!
Love and prayers go out to you all!
With love

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Samantha, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.

To the family and friends of little Samantha,
Since I took early retirement from teaching 13 years ago, I've helped out at Gunton Primary School one morning a week.
I know what a devastating effect Samantha's tragic death has had on the whole school community. She was such a lovely little girl.
I have lived on the Gunton Park Estate for 17 years and for much of that time I've been on the Residents' Committee. Hardly a meeting has gone by when we didn't discuss how dangerous that road junction is for everybody - all pedestrians including children, cyclists and motorists. Traffic surveys were done but not at school times so lights or a mini-roundabout were not thought necessary. We said it was an accident waiting to happen.
Maybe something will be done now so that at least Samantha's death will not be in vain, but that's no comfort to you in your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Miss Annette Stringer.

have just heard the horrific news about the loss of your precious little girl. My heart is aching for you Kev and the family. Babes, I don't know what to say as nothing will make you feel any better, I only wish I could help. You are all in my thoughts, though I cannot imagine the pain you must be in. There copuld never be a person less deserving of this and I truly am sorry for this cruel blow that life has dealt you. I'm sorry Jack.....
I love you Donna and Dave (from Wales) xxxxxxxxx

Heaven has recieved such a beautiful little angel. I can just imagine her now bouncing all over the clouds, giggeling away. She was always a strong little soul, i know she is safe in god's hands.

I know it's heartbreaking and in my experiance losing a brother, i can't say you will ever find it easiar to accept, but i do promise you that one day you won't always think about how much you are hurting, but how much you love her and how you love every little memory of her.

And eventually when you think of her each day, tears won't come to your eyes...but a smile apon your face instead.

My thoughts are with you all. x
