AN amazing close-up of a dragonfly has flown high above the competition to be singled out as the winner of The Journal’s Picture of the Week.
The zoomed-in image, which was taken by Yvonne Adamski, of Holst Close, Lowestoft, gives a fascinating look at the insect, showing off the patterns on its wings.
Yvonne said: “I am delighted to have won this week’s photo competition. The photograph of the dragonfly was taken just as it was about to fly off from a nature pond in Kelling Heath. I felt so lucky to capture it in such clarity.
Yvonne will be presented with her image of the bridge in a 12in x 10in frame, mounted and inscribed, in a prize worth more than £60 from Picture Studios, of London Road North, Lowestoft.
The photo will also go forward to the next final of winning images where, together with her fellow prize-winners, she will have a chance to win her image in a printed 12in x 18in photo block worth £130.
